FLSA STATUS: Part-Time Eligible, Non-Exempt SALARY: $20-23/hour
HOURS: Monday-Friday 30 hours/week
LOCATIONS: *Sites where ADA consistently reaches a minimum of 100 participants on a monthly basis.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Assists the Site Coordinator in planning, implementing, and evaluating all programs and activities in the five core areas: The Arts, Education, Leadership & Service, Health & Wellness, and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. The Assistant supports the Site Coordinator in providing supervision and control over members, coaching staff and volunteers, ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment, and supporting administrative tasks. The Assistant is second in command at the site and supports and fills in for the Site Coordinator when necessary. The Assistant ensures that in collaboration with the Site Coordinator, they manage the BTB Site with the aim of promoting and stimulating program participation to fulfill grant goals to serve over 100 members daily.
KEY ROLES:
Leadership
- Serve as a champion for a high-quality Club experience for all members.
- Support the supervision of staff and volunteers on site.
- Coach staff and members to correct unsafe behaviors, ensure emergency procedures are followed, and take actions to prevent accidents.
- Aim to grow the program to achieve an Average Daily Attendance (ADA) of 120 youth by initiating, promoting, and stimulating current BGCWV programs and new programs.
- Responsible for timely and accurate completion of all daily attendance and reporting (using BTB App and paper backup) with follow-up emails and/or phone calls to families and youth regarding absences.
Program Development and Implementation
- Supervises small and large groups of members and staff, ensuring ratios are met and that staff are supported and supervised at all times.
- Provides mentorship to members and staff and helps youth achieve priority outcomes by consistently providing the most powerful Club Experience possible – Supports staff in implementing the Five Key Elements for Positive Youth Development, offering high-yield activities, providing targeted programs, and encouraging regular attendance.
- Promotes safety of members, quality in programs, and appearance of the Club at all times.
- Demonstrate a knowledge of, interest in, and respect for the community the Club serves.
- Ensure a safe and positive environment, ensuring facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained, replaced, and discarded appropriately.
- Ensure that each member receives a healthy, nutritious snack that conforms to nutrition standards as established by the USDA’s National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
- Assist in managing internal processes to improve the quality of program delivery every quarter (e.g., parent surveys, NYOI, and site observation tools).
- Addresses behavioral issues promptly and assists in conflict resolution with parents and members.
Resource Management
- Supports the Coordinator in ensuring that each program enrollment form and online web registration is properly completed and received before a student begins the program. Claiming attendance for a student not properly enrolled is prohibited.
- Ensures that all member families are active in text caster for immediate communication.
- Assist in ordering, organizing, distributing, and managing program supplies while ensuring appropriate spending within resource allocation.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with outreach, recruitment, and participates in school events as directed by the Site Coordinator.
- Assists in various areas of the Club and Special Events.
- May be required to drive a Club vehicle (depending on driving record and age).
- May be required to work some weekends and evenings.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer) to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; and advise/counsel etc.
External: Maintains contact with the external community which includes and is not limited to the Community Partners, groups, school administration and staff, members’ parents, and others to assist in providing a high-quality Club experience.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- College units in a related field preferred; Child Development, Psychology, Kinesiology.
- 1 year of experience as a Youth Development Professional/program worker is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Ability to deal with the general public.
- Maybe required to drive a club vehicle (depending on driving record and age).

It may also involve traversing and ascending/descending as necessary. The role includes frequent interruptions via in-person contact, phone calls, and email communications. Additionally, interactions with youth and adults may involve moderate to high noise levels during activities. Physical exertion may be necessary to move and transport supplies and equipment.
