Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows needs experienced, community-driven Pre-K Teachers for children aged 3-5 at our Early Learning Centers located in the Our Place facility at 605 S. 21st Street and our clubhouse at 2680 East Ninth Street!

You will have the opportunity to focus on children by:

• planning and leading academic and social-emotional activities in a 10:1 class,
• and engaging with student families.

You’ll get support from a full and engaged admin team, including directors that don’t hesitate to roll up their sleeves and or to address incidents and behavior with parents.

We will need some qualifications from you, including:

• 5.2 on Nevada Registry OR
• Any one of the following:
  • Pursuing an early childhood-related degree and willing to enroll in the TEACH program
  • Enrolled in TEACH program for an early childhood-related degree
  • Bachelor’s Degree in ECE or ECSE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field and state-approved ARL in Early Childhood
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field and 30 or more ECE college credits
  • AND 4000 hours of direct experience in Early Childhood

These are some of the additional things you will do as a Teacher with our early learning centers:

• Prepare supplies and materials for lessons and exercises.
• Manage student portfolios.
• Maintain the safety of our children and staff, and ensure an optimal experience for all.

This is what your day could look like as a Teacher with our early learning centers:

• This role is either a part time role, from 7:30am to 12:30pm or 8am to 1pm Monday through Friday, or full time with additional hours at an alternate rate to be benefits eligible.

Qualifications

We have great directors and a program quality team that can teach you skills on the job, but there are some actions and goals that will make you more successful as a Teacher with the Early Learning Centers.

• You know that quality early childcare is necessary for a strong community and are dedicated to early childhood education.
• You want to bring positivity every day to every staff member, knowing how stressful and challenging child care is.
• You believe that uniqueness should be celebrated and support including all persons, regardless of background or beliefs.
• You respect your team and communicate when you are experiencing difficulty meeting responsibilities.
• Experience with MS Word, and Brightwheel are also preferred.

As part of our commitment to child and member safety, there are some additional steps that all hires will be asked to complete.

• You will need to provide 3 references. These references should be professional references, but references from non-family members over the age of 18 who can speak to your character and professionalism can be substituted in the absence of work experience.
• You will also be asked to complete a drug screen (which only includes drugs illegal in the state of Nevada), background check, and fingerprint check.
