Job Title: Morning Program Staff (2 needed per day)
Supervisor: Club Director
Rate 1: $15/hour (up to 10 hours/week) 5 day/week commitment
Position type: Part-time, 6:45am-8:45am
Dates of Employment: Weekdays only: May 28-30, June 2-August 1
Closed on: June 19, June 30-July 4
Job Summary: Morning Program Staff reports to the Club Director and is responsible for the daily operations of our before-camp program. The Morning Staff will monitor, engage with, and have fun with youth as they are arriving for their day at camp. Must be cooperative, friendly, and maintain open and professional communication with all staff. Abide by and support the Club’s mission, vision, and values to provide our youth with a safe and positive environment.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities)
- Create a warm, kind, welcoming, and supportive environment for all youth.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Responsible for maintaining high standards of safety during the beginning of the camp day.
- Build positive, appropriate relationships with every Club member.
- Ensure that youth are following behavior and safety guidelines at all times.
- Provide age appropriate activities for youth during the start of the camp day.
- Empower youth to clean up after themselves.
- Monitor Club radios to ensure smooth and timely communication with Front Desk.
- Accept other assignments as directed.
Requirements
- Pass background check.
- CPR and First Aid Certified preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred. A minimum of 1 year experience in youth programs is required.
- Must be available to attend our paid Staff Training May 28-May 30 (dates & times may change if the
- Wooster School District utilizes make up days at the end of the school year.)
- Must be available to work M-F, June 2-August 1. Time off for vacations will not be permitted.
- Considerable knowledge of the mission, vision, values, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs and the basic principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with club staff and families.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
