Closed on: June 19, June 30-July 4
This position may have the opportunity to continue working with BGCW during our after school program beginning Fall 2025.
Job Summary: The Boys & Girls Club of Wooster is searching for a part time van driver to increase Club engagement with the local community. As a driver for BGCW, you will be an integral part of the team, helping to transport Club members & staff to and from special programs and activities. Your primary responsibility will be to get our youth safely from one place to another. You are not responsible for supervising or managing behaviors, as that is the responsibility of the Monitor.
Must be cooperative, friendly, and maintain a high level of communication with all staff and youth. Abide by and support the Club’s mission, vision, and values to provide a safe and positive environment for our youth.
Responsibilities:
- Set expectations at the start of each trip.
- Pick up and drop off participants at the start and end of each camp day.
- Transport participants to program activities utilizing Club vans.
- Prepare required documentation for each trip off site to ensure timely and accurate transportation.
- Report all required vehicle maintenance in a timely fashion.
- Provide a safe and healthy environment, both physically and mentally, to all participants.
- Establish a relationship with each child and know his or her present level of understanding; consider the needs of all the children and treat each child with respect and dignity.
- Remain up to date on and follow emergency procedures and organization policies.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements
- Pass background check.
- Have a clean driving record with proven ability to safely transport youth.
- Complete and pass our Defensive Driving course.
- CPR and First Aid Certified preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred. A minimum of 1 year experience in youth programs is required.
- Ability to develop knowledge of the mission, vision, values, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of the Boys & Girls Club of Wooster.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with club staff and families.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
