What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Teen Center Teacher position at Boys & Girls Clubs of Atlantic City?
Description: Certified Teachers are responsible for providing an effective learning environment for youth ages 5-18 years old, to enhance various academic areas.
Schedule: M-Thursday, up to 8 hours a week. 3pm-5pm.
- Helping students combat learning loss from the pandemic.
- Practice scaffolding through learning, helping our Club Kids and their parents, to climb each step proudly, leading to self-sustaining and satisfying futures.
- Provide curriculum and implement lesson plans for project-based activities in collaboration with the supervisor and/or education director.
- Work in small group sessions and develop an individual academic improvement plan for struggling students.
- Create clear and appropriate lesson plans; Assure academic improvements are focused on language arts and/or math.
- Record attendance for all members assigned to the area and keep student’s files updated and organized.
- Evaluate students’ academic and social growth.
- Use outstanding instructional skills, including the ability to motivate and challenge students.
- Maintain classroom management behaviors that are aligned with the club, grant compliance and health & safety protocols.
- Follow and practice the Core Principles – Safety, Respect, Community, Learning, Exploration, and Opportunity.
Note: Atlantic City School District Teachers preferred.
