What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief People Officer position at Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston Metro Area (BGCBMA)?
What You Will Do : Management
Manage, and develop a diverse and exceptional team of PC professionals. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and career growth for all members of the team, and serve as a coach, mentor and thought partner to the team.
Develop and communicate a strong vision for the People function at BGCB.
Foster a culture of high expectations while incorporating continual improvement and feedback; establish clear expectations and promote exemplary team member support.
Proactively and strategically plan for future hiring needs and succession plans.
Advise and guide managers on various workplace issues; assist in resolving internal employment complaints and / or concerns.
Work with managers to assess and revise performance improvement plans and tools.
Support managers, as needed, in the processing of employee terminations.
Annually evaluate and recommend benefits package (e.g., medical, retirement, etc.) to attract and retain top talent.
Administration
Evaluate and implement strong PC systems and structures (e.g., HRIS, leave management, learning management, credential tracking etc.), in collaboration with the team, to support a growing organization.
Facilitate coordination across departments to support overall staff effectiveness.
Establish an overarching vision for talent acquisition and a best-in-class recruitment strategy.
Ensure compelling outreach / marketing efforts to diverse pools of candidates that position BGCB as an 'employer of choice' for strong candidates.
Advise on the recruitment and selection process and tools to support effective and equitable hiring across the organization.
Evaluate and revise the organization's onboarding program to ensure new hires experience a smooth and productive transition to BGCB.
Drive processes for gathering employee feedback and addressing employee concerns.
Analyze retention data and utilize insights to drive retention of high-performing team members through rewards, recognition, and other data-informed incentives.
Design and execute competitive compensation strategy.
Keep job descriptions and core competencies current.
Develop a robust performance management strategy tied to quantitative and qualitative organizational goals.
Propose and implement solutions to mitigate potential threats.
Compliance
Work closely with the CEO and PC Board Committee to ensure BGCB's compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
Stay abreast of employment law / policy trends that may impact BGCB's ability to execute on its mission and growth plan.
Participate in youth-related trainings including, but not limited to - mandatory reporting, boundaries, behavioral management.
Leadership
Serve as true culture builder and carrier; helping BGCB define and realize a high performing organizational culture
Be a champion for and lead efforts to support diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
Advise the CEO and serve on the Leadership Team to drive strategic, organizational-wide priorities.
Lead PC Board Committee and work closely with the PC Board Committee Chair to deliver information, agenda, minutes and other PC-related matters to Board Committee members.
Ensure BGCB delivers best-in-class professional development with a particular focus on developing exceptional people management skills across BGCB's team.

What You Will Need :
Bachelor's degree in a related field
15 years of related experience and training
SHRM or SPHR certification or ability to obtain certification
Experience within non-profit environment and / or an organization in growth-mode preferred
Experience with organizational change and / or organization development preferred
Knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within Human Resources
Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
Strong project management, follow-through and outstanding customer service skills; must demonstrate good judgment and creativity in solving problems
Must demonstrate ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality
MS Office and web competency required; HR system user experience
Familiarity with youth development services a plus
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to multi-task and work within a high energy, collaborative environment
Ability to travel off-site for meetings and events as needed
