Job Description:
As the Director of Athletic Programs, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of quality and developmentally appropriate programs, activities, services, and special events in our club's athletic program areas for youth ages 6-18.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver physical education/athletic programs for youth, with a focus on creating engaging and inclusive experiences.
- Oversight of program staff and department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Supervise and discipline members participating in programs and services within the program area.
- Manage and maintain program activity standards as determined each year.
- Collaborate with staff from other clubhouse departments and community organizations to develop and implement collaborative programs and events.
- Coordinate volunteers and consultants to provide instruction, support, and guidance to members.
- Assess program impact through evaluation efforts, including the annual member survey.
- Train and supervise department staff, providing annual performance evaluations.
- Secure, maintain, and monitor budget, materials, equipment, and other resources belonging to the program area(s).
- Participate in individual and group supervision sessions, as well as professional development opportunities.
- Assist with the Challenge Course program and licensing process.
- Travel between sites and to activities as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Direct experience developing and delivering physical education/athletic programs for youth; experience in out-of-school-time settings preferred.
- Prior coaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of trends in fitness, nutrition, team, and life-long sports.
- Minimum one year supervisory experience.
- Must be or become certified in the Challenge Course and Adventure Programming.
- Must be or become CPR/FA certified.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
- MS Office and web competency preferred.
- Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work clubhouse hours especially as seasons and service needs change.
- Valid driver's license required.
