Job Title: Basketball Coach
Location: Village and Bressi Boys & Girls Clubs
League starts April 19th and ends June 7th
Hours
Weekday (varies depending on need): 5:30pm-7:30pm
Refereeing (for our middle school league): Mondays and Thursdays 4:00pm and 5:00pm
Saturdays: 8:30am-4:00pm (Games are on Saturdays)
Sundays (optional): 1:30pm-3:00pm
Pay: $25 per hour
Job Overview:
The Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad is looking for a dedicated Basketball Coach to lead and develop our Youth Basketball League. This is a part-time position with events mostly being held on Saturdays and practices on weekday evenings. The ideal candidate will have college-level basketball experience, a strong coaching background, and a passion for working with youth athletes. We have 4 seasons of our youth basketball league. We will hold evaluations and place coaches with teams prior to each season. The teams practice once a week and we will schedule you based on availability during the week. On Saturdays you will coach/ref/and help work scoreboard. We are looking for someone with a set schedule that we can work around with.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development: Train and mentor athletes in various basketball events, ensuring skill development and improvement.
Coaching & Leadership: Lead practices, provide instruction, and encourage teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Athletics Operations: Assist with practice schedules, event logistics, and communication with parents and athletes.
Flexibility & Adaptability: Be prepared to coach depending on program needs.
Communication & Punctuality: Maintain clear communication with athletes, parents, and staff while being punctual and reliable for all scheduled practices and meets.
Qualifications:
Mandatory: Basketball experience
Prior coaching experience is highly preferred.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide youth athletes.
Ability to effectively communicate and motivate student-athletes.
Punctuality and dependability for practices and meets.
