Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson’s Mission :
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson (BGCC) offers our young people a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves, dedicated adult mentors who respect and listen to them, and outcome-based programs that empower youth to become lifelong learners.
PRIMARY FUNCTION :
Plan, implement and evaluate all programs and activities for the teen members in the five core areas : The Arts, Education & Career Dev., Character & Leadership Dev., Health & Life Skills, and Sports, Fitness & Recreation, with the concern for providing supervision and control over members, supervising staff and volunteers, prepare and monitor program budgets and disciple members when necessary. Maintain all reporting and attendance and work in conjunction with High School personnel.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities) :
Leadership
- Establish site activities and services that prepare youth for success and create an outcome-driven Club experience that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes.
- Evaluate opportunities to improve Club program; design and communicate strategies to implement improvements.
- Ensure a productive work environment by scheduling regular staff meetings and one-on-one staff coaching
- Provide career development opportunities for staff and volunteers
- Create a system in which employees can perform at their best by creating clear goals and expectations and conducting annual performance evaluations
- Analyze and review average daily attendance and frequency of attendance and develop and implement strategies to increase membership and attendance.
- Communicate, interpret, and enforce policies and procedures established by BGCC

Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes :

Effectively plan, organize and implement a range of program services and activities for members.

RELATIONSHIPS :
Internal : Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive / provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines / instructions; instruct; and advise / counsel.
External : Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.

ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS :
Tasks are regularly performed with moderate exposure to environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, and temperature and noise extremes.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS :
Tasks that involve the ability to exert moderate physical effort, typically involving some combination of standing for long periods of time, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and / or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight.
