The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire is a dynamic organization that currently supports 200 staff working in 30 Early Childhood and Out of School Time programs with a large geographic footprint.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you'll be a member of our leadership team, with overall responsibility for multiple programs. As an Area Manager, you'll oversee the hiring process, operations, budgets, and staff relations. You will work closely with senior management to seek out new ventures and partnerships. You'll facilitate constant and effective communication between individual directors and senior leadership. This position requires excellent organizational, supervision, and interpersonal skills.
Duties
Leadership
- Provides leadership and administrative support to directors in the management of their designated program.
- Ensures an environment that facilitates achievement of youth development outcomes, with overall responsibility for cleanliness, attractiveness, member safety, and safety of properties and equipment.
- Ensures each program is operating near capacity based on historical attendance data.
- Works with programs to ensure regulatory compliance, the fiscal health of the organization, and the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
- Supports professional development through annual professional development plans and works with the appropriate committees to be sure that there are opportunities for staff to access what they need to experience growth.
- Ensures that each center meets or exceeds licensing requirements set by the NH Bureau of Child Care Licensing.
- Conducts periodic audits to ensure compliance and prepares personnel for outside agency visits.
- Ensures that all assessments and reports are filed on time.
- Facilitates the development and implementation of strategic planning processes for overall site programs, including the development of annual program objectives.
- Ensures quality improvement of programs by conducting program evaluations and an annual written analysis of member needs and interests. Compiles monthly statistical reports reflecting activities, attendance, and participation.
- Manages financial resources; controls expenditures against budget.
- Ensures staffing at all programs is sufficient to ensure safety, but not overstaffed.
- Directly responsible for all AR for each site, working with the finance department to facilitate communication with parents regarding payments.
- Ensures that administrative and operational systems are in place.
- Monitors professional development hours for all area employees.
- Maintains professional contact with community members, community leaders and organizations, Club parents, and others to assist in resolving situations and in order to develop and maintain partnerships.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Three ECE credits and three Management/Supervision credits and 1500 hours of experience working with children in a licensed child care program, recreation program or elementary school. Those candidates with extensive experience yet lacking credits may still be considered.
- Preferably a minimum of five years of work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization with planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
- Demonstrated ability regarding personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to deal effectively with members' discipline problems.
- Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to focus, especially when confronted by multiple demands.
- Must be willing to travel between locations.
- Must have or obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications.
- Valid State Driver's License; may need to drive Club van/bus periodically.
- Must possess a safe driving record and submit a copy of a such record to the human resources department.
- All of the candidates that are offered a job with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire will have to submit for an FBI fingerprint background check and submit to a background check through the State of NH Criminal Records Dept. and First Advantage. Note: The State of NH Childcare Licensing Bureau may prohibit you from being employed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire should there be a disqualifying finding on your criminal record. In addition, even if the State of NH reviews your records and allows you to work at the Club, we still reserve the right to determine your employment status.
