PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for providing supervision of the computer lab and computer assistance to youth
ages 6-18.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
• Assist youth in the use of computers and appropriate software, ensuring the proper use of computer equipment.
• Introduce basic computer, keyboard and internet skills to youth
• Prepare teaching materials and learning activities as directed.
• Monitor activities and behaviors of youth during computer lab to ensure the physical and environmental safety of the youth
• Delivers age appropriate programs and activities to club members.
• Tracks participant attendance.
• Encourages youth to participate in programs and activities.
• Maintains safe and respectful behavior of members.
• Reports and records any incidents that occur with members.
• Provides statistical data and narrative evaluation of the program to the Program Director or Club Manager
• Actively engage Club members in programs and activities and encourage participation by all members.
• Prior to its start, will ensure all equipment needed for programs/activities is gathered and in working order.
• Ensure programs, services and activities that prepare youth for success, promoting safety of members and quality in program at all times. Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Reports and records any incidents that occur with members, reporting equipment that may have been damaged to IT Consultant.
• Attend and participate in technology focused trainings.
• Troubleshooting basic issues in Technology Lab
• Create and Maintain media (photos & videos) of programming in the space
• Maintain an updated equipment log and share with supervisors
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Knowledge of operations of computer hardware and software, computer operating systems, computer terminology.
• Experience working with youth ages 6-18 in a recreational or educational environment with focus on computers.
• Good verbal and written communication skills required
• Familiarity with Microsoft office suite and Apple iWork Suite
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills a plus.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITION
• Spend time both at the Club Support Center and at the Clubs
• Must have reliable, insured private transportation
• Must pass criminal background check which includes Livescan fingerprints
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination unless an exemption for medical condition or sincerely-held religious belief is granted.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Normal internal office environment. Occasional need to travel to club locations in Chicago. Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Salary : $17 - $18
