Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County is seeking enthusiastic individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of youth, families, and our community to join our team as Youth Development Professional for the academic 24-25 year.
Youth Development Professionals will work with school-aged youth and in a licensed childcare environment during our after-school and non-school day programming.

Title: Youth Development Professional
Reports to: Program Director
Pay Range: $16.00-$17.50/hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 1:30pm-6pm. 12:30pm-6pm Thursdays
Position Description:
This position will work with school-aged youth ages 5-18 years old in a out of school time environment. This position will work closely with other staff, will plan, implement, supervise and evaluate activities and programs provided for youth. This position may include occasional evenings/weekend hours to accommodate special events, field trips and community programs.
Responsibilities Include:
· Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate, engaging activities for youth (5-18 years of age) using Boys & Girls Clubs of America Curriculum and the Young Star School-Age Curricular Framework.
· Providing positive guidance, role modeling, and daily support to members.
· Maintaining an environment that is supportive to volunteers and supports partnerships with community organizations
· Implementation of grant-funded programs and outcomes.
· Adherence to all regulations as specified in DCF 251.
· Participation in The Registry and Young Star program evaluation.
· Contributing to the overall Club climate for youth development that includes but is not limited to program collaboration, attendance and active participation in staff meetings and training (daily, weekly, organizational), appropriate child guidance of members when necessary, and attendance at club special events as communicated by supervisor.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Required to participate in special programs and/or events as assigned
· May require occasional night/weekend/additional day hours
· Other duties as assigned by supervisors to support the mission and vision of Boys & Girls Clubs
Child Care Staff Qualifications:
· At least 18 yrs old
· High School Diploma/GED/HSED required
· At least 240 hours previous experience working with youth in licensed childcare or comparable environment strongly preferred
· Program Leader Qualified within 90 days of accepting role (Training Provided by the organization)
· Eligibility as a Caregiver as determined by the Department of Children and Families
· Successful completion of drug test screening and physical examination
· The ability and desire to work with youth in a variety of settings.
· Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
· CPR within 3 months of accepting role (Training Provided by the organization)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical requirements: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals. The ability to clearly and concisely exchange/receive ideas, facts, and/or technical information with others. Ability to visually monitor activities of club members. The employee is required to be able to perform CPR or first aid. The employee is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, or balance, and stoop, jump, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee is required to operate a motor vehicle. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds.
WORK LOCATION: This is a direct service position reporting to an assigned Club location daily. May work from multiple locations based on the needs of the organization.
WORK HOURS: This hourly position will work within the hours of operation for the facility. Typical working hours may include a variety of schedules, Monday-Friday. Holiday, weekend, and evening hours will be needed as project deadlines and events dictate.
