Overview
We are a growing organization seeking a skilled and motivated LCSW, LMSW, or LPC to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of children and families we serve. The Mental Health Program Director provides a wide range of services including program oversight, monitoring, support, and guidance to additional employee(s)/interns of the mental health program to ensure it achieves its goals. This position also develops and implements reporting tools/processes; manages program evaluation and quality improvement; provides effective communication with program partners; and provides oversight to ensure all program and fiscal requirements are met. Must be able to work well under pressure, be empathetic and sensitive, and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Must also be able to maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions and progress.
Duties
- Conduct assessments and evaluations of clients to determine mental health issues and needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and providing therapy to clients in one-on-one or group setting.
- Hire, train, motivate, and supervise a part-time LSW, and social work and/or counseling interns from local college/university accredited programs.
- Establish a network of community partnerships in Club locations to provide mental health and other services if necessary.
- Collaborate with BGCDET staff, college/university contacts, and community resource network members to coordinate and provide mental health education and support to clients.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documenting progress towards treatment goals.
- Address unmet needs through case management, educational classes and activities, and professional referrals if needed.
- Stay current with best practices, laws, and regulations in the field of social work and mental health.
- Manage the Mental Health Program budget, administration, compliance, and reporting according to the program grant requirements.
- Oversee development of program communication strategies and materials to ensure effective communication with program stakeholders and to meet program goals.
- Actively participate in supervision, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain a positive relationship with Boys & Girls Clubs leadership and provide regular updates and reports on the Mental Health Program performance to the Club’s CEO and designated Executive Staff.
- Perform related administrative functions for the program as needed and as assigned by the CEO.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Social Work or Counseling.
- Valid licensure as a mental health professional (e.g., LCSW, LMSW, LPC).
- Demonstrated management and leadership skills; experience working with youth development required. Experience with documentation systems required.
- Experience conducting assessments and screenings; monitoring progress and measuring impact; and mental health promotion, education, and prevention.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapy theories and techniques particularly with youth and families.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Intermediate computer skills required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team is important.

- Demonstrate high standards of ethics and integrity.
- Understanding of, and ability to follow, standard administrative office procedures, with emphasis on adapting to BGCDET structure, styles, and systems.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, job motivation, self-organization, planning and organizing, behavior flexibility, rapport building, and cooperation.
- Ability to positively interact with management and youth development Club staff, program partners and funders, co-workers, public officials and others, and provide excellent customer service; ability to perform a variety of duties and to prioritize tasks to meet organizational needs.
