Staff Accountant
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the Staff Accountant assists with the accounting and finance functions of the Organization and supports the Finance Manager
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable transactions-entry/import through payment, validates account, payment support, and evidence of approval through web-based Accounts Payable system
- Accounts Receivable: Record revenue from individual sites as submitted on daily deposit forms from the various site locations
- Conduct mid-level general-ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and identify and correct errors made by internal and external personnel
- Support monthly and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance-sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of operational management accounts
- Prepare special financial reports, when requested by senior managers, by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
- Assist with other accounting and finance functions as needed
Required Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year of accounting/finance, experience, ideally with a nonprofit
- A two (2) year Accounting/Finance AA degree minimum, four (4) year BA/BS preferred
- Basic accounting knowledge and experience with general ledger accounting systems (Sage Intacct preferred)
- Attention to detail and appetite for researching and resolving issues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, leadership, community members, and other related agencies
- Familiarity with accounting software/systems and proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Reliable transportation, safe driving record, active driver’s license, and automobile insurance
- Position may require standing/sitting for extended periods of time, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, bending at the waist, and ability to lift, carry, pull or otherwise move objects up to 20lbs.
