Description
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis is seeking a responsible, safety-focused, and dependable Full-Time Bus Driver to provide daily transportation for our Club members. This role is vital in ensuring safe, reliable transit of youth from area schools to our Club locations and to the Technical Training Center (TTC), as well as transporting for special programs and events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with youth, a clean driving record, and a valid CDL license with passenger endorsement.
Requirements
- Safely operate a BGCM vehicle to transport children and teens from designated schools to Club locations and other destinations such as the Technical Training Center.
- Adhere to all local and state traffic laws and BGCM transportation policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately.
- Ensure all youth are picked up and dropped off according to schedule, maintaining a punctual route.
- Monitor the behavior and safety of youth while on board, maintaining discipline and order as needed.
- Ensure that all children are properly seated and that seatbelt and safety regulations are followed.
- Keep accurate transportation logs and incident reports as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the assigned vehicle(s).
- Assist with loading and unloading of passengers, including those with special needs.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with Club staff, parents, and youth.
- Represent the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the last 5 years.
- Previous experience driving a bus or transporting youth is preferred.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening as required by BGCM policy.
- Ability to interact with children and teens in a professional, caring, and confident manner.
- Strong commitment to the safety and well-being of youth.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including afternoons and occasional weekends or evenings for events or special programs.

Work Schedule:
- Full-Time, generally Monday–Friday afternoons (approx. 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM) with occasional extended hours depending on Club needs or events.
