ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY


The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside has been proudly serving children and families since 1967. We are one of the premier non-profits in the Inland Empire and looking for an incredible Resource Development Leader to join our dynamic team. We are a highly driven and mission-focused organization in need of an energetic, donor-focused, organized and committed professional to fill the critical role of Senior, Resource Development. The Club’s impact extends throughout several sites across the Inland Empire, Redlands, and areas of the High Desert


POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the CAFO, and in collaboration with the CEO and Board of Directors, this position is responsible for all fundraising and development activities to build visibility, impact, and financial resources, through the solicitation of major gifts, federal and state grants, special events, and corporate and foundation support. Provides leadership and direction to club staff to increase engagement and support of resource development and marketing efforts.



QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge, Education, Experience & Skills

 

·        Strong personal, verbal, and written communication skills

·        Customer service, communication and recordkeeping experience required

·        Able to manage multiple projects, while meeting deadlines

·        Considerable knowledge of: the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs; of the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.

·        Solid organizational, time management and project management skills required

·        Foster and promote business relationships and partnering within the community


·        Establish rapport and build relationships to promote mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Redlands-Riverside

·        Good public speaking skills required

·        Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

·        Experience fundraising and grant writing

·        Knowledge of nonprofit management

 

KEY ROLES:

 

Competency Areas

 

Strategic Leadership

·        Develop and implement a comprehensive resource development plan aligned with BGCGRR’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.

·        Collaborate with the CAFO, CEO and Board of Directors to execute a fund development plan which increases revenues to support the strategic direction of the organization.

  • Provide expertise regarding relationship building actions/activities to cultivate potential donors, including how to build a pipeline for future donors.
  • Develop donor cultivation strategies; track all prospects and donors in donor management system and close major and planned gifts. 

Partnership Development

·        Meet prospective donors and supporters on a continual basis to establish strong relationships.

·        Grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors.

·        Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring timely follow-ups and acknowledgments. 

·        Oversee donor retention through engagement strategies and regular communication.

·        Strengthen relationships with local businesses, community leaders, foundations, and other organization. Serve as a representative of BGCGRR in the community, raising awareness about the organization’s mission and work.

 

Strategic Planning

·        Direct and implement an annual fund program, including mailings and annual fundraising drives

  • Work within your assigned Clubs to implement gift planning strategies that assist Clubs to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major and planned gift prospects.
  • Work with Club staff and volunteer leaders to impart the knowledge to further major gift fundraising and to promote specific gift opportunities.
  • Assist Clubs with structuring and conducting a planned giving campaign from the feasibility study to gift closure.
  • Strategically facilitate setting fundraising goals and timelines that are aligned with Club needs and community potential for major gifts.
  • Assist Clubs in developing a simple planned giving marketing plan to both their internal and external prospects; assisting Clubs with ongoing estate planning needs including donor or advisor meetings
  • Provide campaign consulting for capital or endowment campaigns from vendor selection, feasibility, goal setting, and implementation


Resource Management

  • Maintain a close relationship with all BGCA-Resource Development and school districts.
  • Maintain a close relationship with all Club staff and volunteers within assigned regions
  • Oversee and manage all fundraising activities, including major gifts, individual donations, corporate partnerships, grants, events, and planned giving.
  • Oversee the Resource Development team, providing direction, support, and professional growth opportunities. Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability within the team.

 

Budget and Financial Oversight

·        Develop and manage the annual resource development budget

·        Monitor income and expenses to ensure fundraising goals are met and financial integrity is maintained.

Relationships

§ Internal: Maintain oral and written contact with the Chief Administrative & Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, teammates, and volunteers for the purpose of exchange of information, to provide progress reports regarding activities and planned programs, and to coordinate events.

§ External: Maintain oral and written contact with other agencies, business leaders, community groups, boards of directors of such organizations, and the media for the purpose of exchanging information and ideas and for the purpose of fundraising.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

·        Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·        Occasional standing, walking, and reaching.

·        Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds (e.g., office supplies, documents).

·        Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.

·        Ability to perform tasks requiring close vision and the ability to adjust focus (e.g., reading and reviewing documents).

·        Adequate hearing for communication in person and over the phone.

·        Strong verbal and written skills.

·        Occasional bending, stooping, and crouching.

·        Ability to move around the office and interact with staff.

·        Ability to travel to different club locations or off-site meetings as needed.
