TITLE : Transportation Coordinator (Full-time. Non-exempt)

DEPARTMENT : Operations

HOURLY WAGE : $24.00 to $26.00

WORK SCHEDULE : 7 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m., Monday through Friday during school days. Hours could vary during non-school days and special events.

REPORTS TO : Quality Assurance Coach and Director of Program Services

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside has been proudly serving children and families since 1967. We are one of the premier non- profits in the Inland Empire and looking for a Transportation Coordinator to join our dynamic team. We are a highly driven and mission-focused organization throughout several sites across the Inland Empire.

Primary Function :

Our Transportation Coordinator plans, schedules, revises, and directs transportation to and from the 16 Redlands Unified School District Schools, before and after school during the school year. They will also coordinate, both internal and external, all non-school day transportation in Redlands and across the organization.

Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities) :

Establish and coordinate standard operating procedures for the Club’s Transportation consistent with federal, state, and local regulations. Develop and coordinate a transportation program that meets the requirements of the Redlands Unified School District and all other internal and external transportation needs.

Maintains our vans and develops and manages a maintenance program Helps prepare, and then manage the annual Transportation budget.

Recommends procurement of any materials, supplies, and equipment for the Club’s Transportation to Finance Team. Administers and maintains an aggressive safety program and Safe Driver Plan.

Recommends efficient school routes and time schedules.

Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities) :

Responsible for the daily operations of the Club's transportation program. Ensures the Club transportation program is well-organized.

Coordinates communication with schools, parents, and team members as needed.

Ensure that the daily schedule of pickups, field trips, and early dismissal of school days is followed.

Ensures transportation services comply with the Club’s policies and procedures, and local, state, and federal regulations. Oversees the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality transportation services to children enrolled in the Club.

Evaluate driver's job performance.

Monitors driver's arrival, departures, time off requests and reviews individual timecards.

Ensures that all rules, standards, best practices, and regulations regarding children’s transportation are adhered to by all Club drivers. Provides support, and guidance and ensures drivers are appropriately trained, have all necessary documentation to drive, and that driving records are maintained and monitored.

Coordinates Club vehicle usage for optimum efficiency.

Keep current files on vans, i.e., maintenance bills, copies of registrations and insurance.

Maintains, develops, and implements monitoring tools to enforce safety standards and guarantee safe operations of vehicles. Monitors and records that all needed maintenance, repairs, and cleanings are performed. Makes appropriate vehicle changes to reflect immediate needs. Ensure that all vehicle registrations and proof of insurance are up to date and in Club vehicles. Also, ensure that current stickers are on license plates.

Stays aware of any hazards, road construction, etc., affecting transportation routes. Maintains transportation documentation accurately for billing compliance.

Maintain records of any accidents or incidents and complete any required follow-up. Train drivers on the Club’s Transportation Program policies and procedures.

Informs TK / K Coordinator of potential problems related to transportation.

Works closely with school officials, parents and club staff to ensure adequate, efficient, and responsive transportation support. Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to manage staff.

Ability to make decisions based on the Club's policies and procedures. Ability to handle staff-related problems with a professional attitude.

Respond to members' needs.

Review schedules and be sure that they are followed.

Design driver's schedules for programs, field trips, and special events. Handle discipline promptly as needed as outlined in the Driver's Handbook.

Take the initiative and use good judgment. Have a positive attitude and promote teamwork.

Communicate and collaborate with other staff members.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all team members.

Support the Boys & Girls Club movement by following all relevant policies and procedures.
