TITLE: Program Leader (Virtual Youth)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Lead and plan engaging sessions in the areas of education, social recreation, arts & crafts, and STEM on the BGCGW’s virtual platform.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

- Create a SAFE environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes
- Promote and stimulate program participation, while ensuring the five key elements for positive youth development occur daily:

2. Supportive Relationships

- Expectations and recognition
- Ensure the physical and emotional health and safety of club members at all times
- Provide guidance and act as a role model / mentor to assure conduct, safety and development of all members
- Maintains valued, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
- Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.
Program Development and Implementation
- Collaborate with the Director of Clubhouse @Yourhouse and fellow Program Leaders to partner in quality sessions developed around key topics for support of youth engagement.
- Embrace and learn sessions with Clubhouse @Yourhouse staff and a team of other content-based facilitators.
- Lead and guide approximately learning experiences for a group of 15-25 youth and visitors ages 5-18.
- Debrief learning experience, incorporating feedback based on session outcomes, youth learning and youth experience.
- In partnership with the Director of Clubhouse @ Yourhouse monitor and administer, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and observance of professional virtual protocol at all times.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in and execution of delivery of other unit activities and events as necessary.
- May assist in new member registration and orientation.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Ability to operate recent technology and mobile applications (Tik Tok, Class Dojo, Instagram, and more)
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience in working with children.
- Knowledge of youth development.
- Knowledge of Salesforce along with Microsoft and Google Doc suites
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Ability to deal with the general public.
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
- Valid State Driver’s License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Part Time - Typical Work Hours: School Year, Monday-Friday 2pm-7:30 pm. Winter, Spring & Summer Camp Hours, 10 Hour Shift between 8am and 6pm, Monday-Friday. Some weekend work may be necessary.
- This position is remote.
- Reliable access to strong broadband internet connectivity.
- Access to a reliable and current PC or Mac, along with headphones/earbuds with microphone.
- Access to a quiet area during live meetings, while working.
- Requires the ability to speak, hear, use a personal computer for standard business communications, and the ability lift up to 15 lbs.
