How You Will Help Us Make a Difference –As a bus driver, you will be responsible for the operation of vans and small and large buses, in transporting children from school to the Clubs, and driving on designated fieldtrips.
Following a pre-planned route according to a definite time schedule, transports students from schools to the designated units.
Transports students on designated field trips.
Drives bus carefully and in compliance with traffic regulations and bus operating procedures.
Assumes responsibility for the safety of children in loading, unloading, and transporting them from school to the club, instructing children in safety precautions and practices.
Maintains proper paperwork for attendance of children and reports delays & accidents.
Maintains discipline; reports unruly behavior to Club Director.
Inspects and sweeps bus. Reports defects or problems with vehicle to Transportation Supervisor.
Ensures bus meets regular maintenance schedule.
What are Essential Job Requirements:
Candidates must be able to pass a level 2 background check in order to be employed by BGCMC
Possession of a Valid Florida Driver’s License, Florida Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Class C or higher with a “P” and “S” endorsement. If you are a serious candidate, we will pay for your CD licensing.
Possession or ability to successfully complete CPR, First Aid Course, and DOT Physical.
Completion of a performance test in bus operations.
Experience in working with children and knowledge of youth development.
Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules and regulations.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Good physical condition according to the requirements of the job.
Strong organizational, time management skills and ability to set priorities.
Demonstrated strong work ethic, positive attitude, high level of energy and flexibility.
Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
We Offer:
$19.50 an hour
$100 sign-on bonus
Part-time role
Allowance in lieu of holiday pay for eleven paid holidays & 18 hours of vacation, provided minimum hours of work has been met.
