The Program Specialist-Health and Wellness Program will implement a pre-designed curriculum in our two traditional Clubs as well as our school sites. Requires knowledge of following curriculum sessions and classroom management and techniques and requires the flexibility to fill various roles with small administrative tasks as assigned.

Under the supervision of the Health and Wellness Manager, this position is responsible for planning, implementation, and execution of our Health and Wellness Curriculum.
- Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes
- Ensures engagement, promotes, and stimulates participation and consistent attendance of youth enrolled in health and wellness activities
- Effectively implements and administers programs, services, and activities.
- Members should learn specific skills in pillars of health such as but not limited to: drug and alcohol abuse, career building, social, emotional and physical health, as well as sportsmanship, leadership, and accountability.
- Establishes rapport with youth and provides mentoring, guidance, role modeling to members and overall direction for their activity engagement.
- Monitors and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure the safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the club always
- Ensure that program spaces are keep clean after use and all supplies are accounted for
- Supports members emotionally and encourages social development, understanding of others and positive self-concepts successfully.
- Plans and facilitates purposeful and engaging activities and group projects, with many being art-based in nature
- Follows regular lesson plans, keeps attendance sheets and other administrative duties
- Participate in organizational and department training and staff development activities
- Ensure a productive work environment by participating in club staff meetings
- Maintains daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; collaborate; and advise/counsel
- Conducts mandatory cleaning, sets up and closes program area daily
- Performs other duties as assigned
- This position is part time (2-7 pm) with the possibility of some infrequent weekend work
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of two years of work-related skills, knowledge, or experience is required
- Certifications and credentials in respective skill-based activities highly preferred
- CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Must pass pre-employment Level 2 background check and drug test
- Experience in working with children and knowledge of youth development
- Experience and ability in creating interactive art activities
- Strong organization, time management skills and ability to set priorities
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, positive attitude, high level of energy and flexibility
- Proven effective communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavioral problems
- Ability to implement quality programs for youth
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
- Must be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities
- Required to stand, walk, run, and sit. Able to use hands and fingers on a (computer) keyboard and other office equipment. Able to reach and grasp athletic or program specific objects
- Able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds during a standard 4- or 8-hour shift
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
- The noise level in the work environment is high because work is conducted in a Club setting, indoor/outside
