Site Location
Stationed at 1 of the 2 Middle Schools in the Martin County School District:
- Stuart Middle School (Stuart, FL)
- Indiantown Middle School (Indiantown, FL)
Purpose
The Middle School Mentor AmeriCorps Members will deliver a mentor curriculum and create a safe environment, develop positive relationships, and recognize students for their efforts. Members encourage students to become more engaged in school by meeting for 15-20 minutes once a week to provide support with attendance, behavior, and course performance.

Qualifications
- Possess a high school diploma or in progress of completion.
- Be above the age of 17.
- Be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident.
- Have served no more than three terms in an AmeriCorps state or national program.
- Agree and pass a criminal background and drug screening.
Term of Service
August 1, 2025 - July 31, 2026
Time Requirements (Full-time or Part-time)
- Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. (During school hours)
- 1700 hours (Full-time) or 900 hours (Part-time) service hours required by the end of the term of service to receive Segal Educational Award.
- Monthly community service projects assignments.
- Members may be required to deploy and assist in a natural catastrophe.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implements the day-to-day delivery of the AmeriCorps program following all requirements.
- Ensures the confidentiality of the students, school employees, and AmeriCorps members.
- Uses provided technology to document, monitor, and report on student progress.
- Maintain positive communication with school administration and staff.
