ART TEACHER
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Under the supervision of the Lead Art Teacher, the Art Teacher is responsible for providing quality evidence-based and/or curriculum-centered programming to club members in a safe, supportive, experiential learning environment.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
· In collaboration with the Lead Art Teacher, develops and delivers age-appropriate art lessons that align with Reader’s Theater.
· Supports the Lead Art Teacher with four family events that showcase costumes, set design, and props created by the club members in a reading of the play.
· Maintains consistent communication with supervisor in relation to the club's academic progress.
· Provide active supervision when interacting with members and provide motivation and encouragement.
· Additional duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Maintain close daily contact with supervisor, Education Director, Club staff, and volunteers to receive and provide information.
External: Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, schools, and others.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Previous experience teaching students Art
- High level of creativity and innovation
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work easily with people at all levels and geographies within the organization.
