JOB SUMMARY: |
Do you have an interest in working with & serving youth? We invite you to join The Boys & Clubs of Metro Atlanta as a Summer Program Instructor to help provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging organize, promote, and implement programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: |
Prepare Youth for Success
- Foster a welcoming and supportive environment where all youth can thrive.
- Encourage participation and engagement in programs.
- Guide new members in understanding programs, program areas and equipment, Club safety, and expectations.
- Serves as a positive role model for Club members.
Program
- Assist with program delivery.
- Communicate plans and help to recognize youth participation and achievements.
- Observe activities and bring concerns to the instructor’s attention.
- Assist and maintain records to track attendance and participation.
Other responsibilities
- Participates as part of a team to run quality programs by helping where needed or directed.
- Participates in training/educational opportunities to expand knowledge and skills.
- Ensures a productive work environment by participating in weekly Club staff meetings.
- Supervises and trains volunteers and program assistants
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: |
- Experience working with youth through volunteering, school, or work is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS: |
Daily contact with Club staff, members, outside organizations, and individuals to plan, coordinate, and deliver programs. The ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing more than 25 lbs. Travel to special events, field trips, outdoor work, and moderately physically demanding activities may occasionally be required. Must be able to work afternoon/evening hours; occasional weekend hours may be required.
