COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR

Primary Function
The Community Outreach Coordinator recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers assigned to Club sites and implements the Mentoring with Impact program throughout the organization. The Community Outreach Coordinator will train staff to assimilate volunteers and mentors as supports to program delivery in the Clubs. The Community Outreach Coordinator will oversee the use of outcome measurement tools and generate statistical data to show the impact of the programs, especially the Mentoring with Impact. The volunteers recruited by the Community Outreach Coordinator should reflect a balance of college students, local community service organizations, and others who can participate in a range of volunteer service projects. The Community Outreach Coordinator will provide program development and management, adjusting content as needed.

The Clubs provide more than a safe, fun and constructive alternative to being home alone -they offer a variety of award-winning developmental programs to help youth build skills, self-esteem and values during critical periods of growth. The twenty Boys & Girls Clubs throughout Palm Beach County serve more than 10,000 children ages 6-18. Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities)
- Recruit volunteers based on the needs of the organization.
- Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers to assist with events, programs, and outreach initiatives.
- Develop clear roles and responsibilities for volunteers to maximize their impact and ensure a positive experience.
- Collaborate with Chief Impact Officer, Club Directors and Program Directors to determine the needs of volunteers in the Clubs
- Support Club staff in supervising the day-to-day efforts of the volunteers at each Club.
- Present to college campus and local community organizations, student groups, faculty, and staff to obtain volunteers, and collaborate on service events.
- Facilitate the training of all volunteers, work with the volunteers to make sure that all trainings meet Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County quality standards.
- Identifying projects through needs assessment and ongoing communication.
- Assist Club staff in implementation of program and support volunteers.
- Research relevant community organizations to coordinate additional volunteers.
- Establish and regularly update volunteer schedule and project.
- Communicate regularly with volunteers through check-in phone calls, e-mails, and personal appreciations for their efforts.
- Document and log volunteer hours and report hours to CAFO.
- Collect and manage feedback from all parties involved in volunteer activities, including volunteers, Club staff, Club members and community members through written reports, testimonials, and verbal comments.
- Share feedback with Club staff to acknowledge strengths, successes and to make improvements for future activities and programs.
- Plan, organize, and oversee key initiatives, including the Annual Back-to-School Drive, Annual Holiday Gift Program and Boca West Home for the Holiday Event
- Develop creative and impactful campaigns to increase participation and donations
- Serve as the primary liaison to engage stakeholders, sponsors, and volunteers in supporting organizational community outreach initiatives.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials, social media campaigns, and press releases for outreach events.
- Maintain accurate records of donations, sponsorships, and participation in outreach events.
- Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with volunteers, staff and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
- External: Maintain contact and build relationships with community groups, schools external staff and volunteers, donors and others to recruit or to assist in resolving challenges.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Ability to train and supervise volunteers.
- Valid Florida license with safe driving record.
- Experience in leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting, training, managing, and supporting volunteers.
- Ability to build relationships and work with Club staff, volunteers, Club members, and community members.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong language and communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to give presentations to large groups.
- Desire to share the Boys & Girls Clubs mission with the community.
- Community service experience is a plus.
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work well independently and on a team.
- Availability, dependability, and willingness to be flexible.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and think strategically.
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude toward helping others.
