POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: Grants Manager
Full-time/Non-Exempt
Employed By: President/CEO
Responsible To: VP of Resource Development
Supervises: N/A
Salary Range: $40,000.00 to $55,000.00 plus benefits
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree with courses in business, sociology, education, English, communications or computer science. Special consideration may be given for equivalent experience and personal qualifications in lieu of a degree. Resumes will be accepted until 01/27/2025.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Manages the overall grant process, not limited to but including internal and external data research, grant proposal development and writing, narrative drafting, grant submittal, grant reporting, and funding and/or required documentation.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in the Program Department, team leader and support services meetings. Work collaboratively with other staff to meet goals and objectives of the organization.
Support the Resource Development team in performing other functions, such as case for support document drafting, appeal writing and mailing preparation.
Attend trainings and other developmental/professional growth opportunities.
Participate in periodic assessment of own performance and assist in developing own goals and objectives.
Implement any other administrative and program duties as assigned.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Learn and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the organization.
Research foundation and government grants, draft proposals with supporting documentation based on the funding requirements and objectives of the organization, 50 proposals annually.
Work independently and within a team environment to successfully submit proposals and reports for approval by the Grants Team prior to deadlines.
Use professional written and verbal communication skills in response to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted letters of intent and grant proposals. Retain positive communication and relationships with funding providers and other stakeholders.
Keep detailed and accurate calendars and records related to due dates, deadlines, and timelines for all proposals and reports. Maintain organized records regarding program reports, assessments and evaluations in order to facilitate grant writing and reporting.
Communicate and track expected program outcomes and timelines as they relate to grant reporting.
Assist in managing program timeline, specifically assuring that grant and other funding requirements are met.
Supervision
- Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings, department meetings and organization meetings.
- Facilitate the Grants Team monthly meetings to provide updates regarding grant opportunities and reporting progress.
- Participate in periodic assessment of own performance and develop own goals and objectives with Supervisor and/or Leadership.
- Attend training and other developmental/professional growth opportunities as time and resources allow.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in special programs and/or events.
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with the Resource Development and Grants Team and other Support Services Staff Members.
- External: Maintain contact with relevant external community groups, grant funders, and business supporters.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor's Degree with courses in business, sociology, education, English, communications or computer science. Special consideration may be given for experience and personal qualifications in lieu of degree.
- Experience in working with youth serving organizations.
- Knowledge of youth development.
- Ability to interact with the general public.
- Strong time management skills.
- Commitment to gender equity issues.
- Willingness to work in multicultural settings.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications (preferred - will supply training).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that include excellent grammar and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to conduct thorough research and interpret data.
- Proficiency in GoogleDocs, Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn new software skills.
- Must be able to work independently and with others, self-driven, and solution oriented.
