Position Overview:
The Senior Vice President of Fundraising Operations will lead the strategic and operational functions of The Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan’s fundraising activities. The SVP will oversee all aspects of fundraising operations, including donor stewardship, donor analytics, fundraising strategy, campaigns, and overall process efficiency. The role requires a seasoned leader with experience in non-profit fundraising operations, a deep understanding of donor engagement, and the ability to implement innovative systems and practices to drive growth in giving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategic Oversight:
- Provide visionary leadership for the resource development team, ensuring alignment with BGCSM’s overall mission, vision and goals.
- Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
- Collaborate with the CEO/President and senior leadership team to design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive fundraising strategies, including major gifts, individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundation grants, and planned giving.
- Establish fundraising operational priorities, objectives, and KPIs to measure success, track progress, and drive continuous improvement.
- Fundraising Operations and Process Management:
- Lead the optimization of fundraising operations to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, including systems, processes, and workflows.
- Oversee the donor database to ensure accurate, up-to-date, and actionable donor information.
- Manage donor stewardship strategies to ensure timely, personalized, and meaningful donor communication and recognition.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing fundraising team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning,
- Set clear goals for resource development team and provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to support professional growth and skill development.
- Partner with HR to ensure staffing needs are met and create a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Budget and Financial Management:
- Manage the fundraising operations budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and cost-effectively to meet fundraising goals.
- Monitor fundraising expenses and return on investment (ROI), ensuring resources are used optimally to generate maximum revenue.
- Donor and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with the donor relations team to enhance donor engagement and loyalty, ensuring a high level of donor satisfaction and retention.
- Work closely with external partners, including consultants, agencies, and vendors to support and enhance fundraising efforts.
- Represent the organization at key donor meetings, special events, and public engagements to strengthen relationships with current and prospective donors.
- Reporting and Risk Management:
- Stay current on trends in non-profit fundraising, technology, and best practices, integrating innovations that enhance organizational performance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements related to fundraising practices and donor management.
