Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay’s mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us the most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, caring citizens.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Fulfill Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay’s mission by managing, directing and leading staff, ensuring safety of club members and staff. Acts as organizational brand ambassador and maintains ongoing relationships with surrounding community, parents, staff, volunteers and the administrative office. Implements impactful youth development programming in collaboration with various subject matter experts under limited supervision.
Successful incumbents in this role will be passionate about the Boys & Girls Clubs mission, focused on measurable outcomes, flexible, collaborative amongst peers and other departments, committed to customer service, dedicated to organizational excellence and driven to execute tasks and accomplish club goals.
KEY ROLES:
Performance Management
- Ensure club safety for youth, staff, volunteers and overall facility operations.
- Ongoing management of club membership engagement by maintenance and monitoring of acceptable enrollment levels, daily attendance and duration.
- Execution and implementation of core BGCA programs as well as additional supplemental youth development programs against pre-approved standards of quality.
- Community engagement to include interaction with school principals and administration, law enforcement personnel, program partners and local business contacts.
- Daily planning of staffing and program management schedules and time-sensitive administrative requirements.
- Resource and fiscal management to include supplies, club assets, in-kind donations and compliance with grant deliverables and requirements.
Talent Management
- Recruiting, onboarding, training and development of club staff.
- Create positive employee relations culture focused on retaining, rewarding and recognizing staff.
- Creating a culture of accountability by managing and monitoring attendance, evaluating performance and clearly communicating clear expectations.
- Ensure compliance with club policies, procedures and commitment to a diverse and inclusive workforce.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay; and the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
- Knowledge of core BGCA or relevant youth development programs.
- Ability to effectively resolve conflicts among club members, staff, parents and administrative office personnel.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Group leadership skills, including and understanding of group dynamics.
- Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
- Superior time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Demonstrated character competencies including honesty and integrity, professionalism, tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of youth between the ages of 5 to 15 years old.
- Managing facility expenses within budget.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 years of prior supervisory experience planning and executing youth developmental activities
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications required within 90 days.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record and consistent access to a motor vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
TRAVEL:
Travel may be required to multiple Club facilities throughout Pinellas County for training and/or other business purposes.
