Brief Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Prepares, facilitates, and evaluates programming activities for youth to ensure enrichment programming is successful. Ensures a safe environment for all at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
School time: Part time hours (12-20 hours a week) during the school year: 2:00pm to 8:00pm; Mon-Fri.
Out of school time (i.e. summer, winter, and/or spring break) may vary, but will remain a part-time position. Out of school time hours may range from 7:00am – 8:00pm.
Occasional nights or weekends may be required for training, field trips, or other Club-related activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
- Prepares materials for programming
- Leads activities designed to foster students’ mental, physical, and social development
- Works with youth individually or in groups to facilitate programming
- Provides feedback to Club youth using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students
- Enforces Club rules and policies
- Maintains a professional and role-model persona
- Checks in and/or out youth attending Club adhering to procedures
- Takes daily class attendance and maintain accurate records
- Supervises youth in various settings including classrooms, cafeteria, playground, multipurpose rooms, and field trips
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Club area
- Prepares and serves food adhering to strict procedures
- Attends staff meetings and training sessions as prescribed
- May be required to drive a shuttle bus or Club transportation
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain close daily contact with Club staff and Club members to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instruction
- Maintain contact with external community groups, school administration, members’ parents and others

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must pass background check, reference check, and drug test
- Must be able to work and interact professionally
- Associate degree in education or related field preferred
- At least one year of relevant experience in an educational or childcare setting with a preferred age of 5 - 18 years of age
- If 21 years or older, hold a valid state Driver’s License and be willing to drive shuttle bus
- Spanish speaking preferred
- Exemplary written and spoken communication skills
- Demonstrates dependability, accountability, and cooperation
- Preferred ability to stand for long periods of time
- Preferred ability to work in various weather conditions—hot, cold, rainy, etc
- Preferred ability to meet physical demands of working with youth
- Preferred ability to move equipment up to 25 pounds
- Preferred ability to endure periodically noisy environments (in the context of working with youth)
- Preferred ability to have adequate vision and hearing to ensure the safety of Club youth
