Boys & Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin (BGCCB) is looking for individuals ages 18 who want to work with some stellar students at our McGraw Clubhouse, Larson Elementary & Longview Elementary Clubs! Staff gain experience in how to manage a classroom, plan and implement fun programs, and be creative. Must be 18 years or older. Bilingual is preferred.

Monday - Friday, 2:30 - 6:30 PM

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor or his/her designees, a Youth Development Professional (YDP) plans, implements, and supervises programs and activities in structured, specialized program spaces. Specialized content areas include: Education, Social Recreation, Cultural Arts, Sports & Fitness, Outdoor Recreation, and STEM.
STARTING WAGE
$16.28 per hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare Youth for Success
- Facilitate lesson plans and/or activities for club members
- Promote program participation
- Provide guidance and role modeling to youth
- Provide a safe environment through clear rules and expectations
- Provide homework assistance and high yield fun learning activities
- Help set up materials and redirect youth when appropriate
Supervision & Safety
- Ensure a productive and collaborative work environment by participating in planned staff meetings and trainings
- Inspect program areas daily or any safety precautions prior to youth entering area
- Monitor youth while in unstructured program areas
Relationships
- Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club youth, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines and instructions
- External: Maintain a good reputation and moral conduct outside of work, in the community and on social media networks.
Additional Responsibilities
- May participate in special events
- Demonstrate a high standard of professionalism, effective communication, personal motivation, and interpersonal skills with members, peers, supervisors, parents, volunteers and the general public
- Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing, walking, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and squatting are movements staff will do throughout the day. Accommodations can be made.
