What are the responsibilities and job description for the BUS DRIVER/ PROGRAM AIDE (29 Hours Per Week) position at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gila River Indian Community?
Description
Under the direction of the Branch Director and/or Program Director, the Bus Driver/Program Aide will drive members to and from Club related activates. the Bus Driver/Program Aide will also assists in planning, implementing, and supervising members all programs in a program area, such as Arts & Crafts, Game Room, Physical Education, Performing Arts, Learning Center, or other Branch level program assigned in areas.
Requirements
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bus Driver:
- Must allow for DMV background check and be cleared to transport youth per the barrier crime policy of the organization.
- Must keep an updated list of all youth who are transported to and from the Clubhouse and Club- related activities.
- Must confirm that no children are left on a vehicle after every trip (based on a seat-by-seat scan of each vehicle); log must be signed daily to ensure compliance.
- Must perform regular checks to ensure that all members are picked up and dropped off at the appropriate times and locations.
- Must submit written reports detailing issues or incidents involving transportation of members to and from the Clubhouse or to and from Club-related activities.
- Must only transport members in official Club vehicles.
- Must never transport Club members in personal vehicles.
- Must never use cell phones, PDAs or other communication devices while transporting members to and from the Clubhouse or Club-related activities.
Program Aide:
Prepare Youth for Success
Create an environment that facilitates the Formula for Impact
- Promote and stimulate program participation;
- Assist in new member orientation;
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
Program Implementation
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members in program area.
- Maintain the cleanliness of program area.
- Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for members and visitors.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- May participate in additional special programs and/or events
- Evenings/weekend work may be involved.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Valid Drivers License is required
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications will provide if needed
- Ability to lift heavy items and equipment
