What are the responsibilities and job description for the 21st CCLC Supplemental Parent Engagement Coordinator position at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Golden Triangle?
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Boys & Girls Club of the Golden Triangle 21st CCLC Supplemental Family Engagement Coordinator position is to ensure the development and implementation of a high-quality expanded learning program for Club parents and their families. The Family Engagement Specialist individual will work to increase and improve parent/family and community involvement in the district and with parental involvement programs particularly the 21 Century program. The primary responsibility is to provide communication links between the Clubs and the community. The 21st CCLC Supplemental Family Engagement Coordinator will work with parents and provide information to encourage communication with parents/families between the Club and the community.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Leadership 1.
Establishes and maintains positive and respectful working relationships with students,
program team members, administration, parents/guardians, and community partners and members.
- Coordinate adult and family engagement activities in the community and at the 21 CENTURY sites
- Plan, schedule, coordinate activities involving families of 21
- Prepare and plan for school-community relations daily.
- Serve as a liaison between the school and the parents/families of the school.
- Deliver and distribute information to the business/parent community.
- Attend school and community meetings as required.
- Make personal contact with parents to encourage family engagement.
- Provide information to 21 CENTURY families to improve home-school communication.
- Prepare 21 CENTURY student progress reports and meet with parents to discuss strategies to improve student achievement through the after-school project.
- Work with the site coordinators/director to investigate issues and participate in conflict resolution between the site and the community.
- Collect data for reporting purposes
- Perform related duties as assigned by the dept.
Records and Reports
- Plan and maintains parent participation report counts for reports
- Keep informed of and comply with state and district policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.
- Provide reports as necessary
- Maintain records of parent attendance in district and site functions.
Other
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
- Participate in meetings and special events as assigned.
- Exercise professional judgment in absences; be punctual at work, meetings, and appointments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participation in special programs and/or events as assigned.
- Knowledge and use of BGCA.net.
- Will be required to work some weekends.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned by the 21st CCLC Supplemental Project Director and/or BGCGT Management.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
