Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destinations while providing excellent customer service. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance, as well as the ability to navigate various routes efficiently. Candidates with experience in commercial driving, paratransit, shuttle driving, or school bus driving are encouraged to apply.
Duties
- Safely operate a bus or van to transport passengers according to scheduled routes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Assist passengers in boarding and alighting the vehicle, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle environment.
- Adhere to traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes and schedules.
- Handle any passenger inquiries or concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
- Keep accurate records of trips, including passenger counts and mileage.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Proven experience in driving buses, vans, or similar vehicles (limousine, shuttle driving, delivery driver).
- Mechanical knowledge is preferred for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual candidates are a plus.
- Previous experience in paratransit or school bus driving is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings or late evenings as needed.
- Must pass background checks and meet all safety requirements.
