Position Summary:
Under direct supervision, responsible for operating an agency vehicle as outlined in BGCGC’s Transportation Policies & Procedures
Essential Responsibilities:
- Understand and adhere to the Transportation Policies & Procedures
- Understand and adhere to the established internal Club procedure/system for the area of transportation
- Inspect bus/van daily and record and report finding(s)
- Clean interior of the bus/van daily; clean exterior of the bus/van weekly or as needed
- Assure compliance to the directive requiring the number of passengers do not exceed the number of seat belts
- Assure compliance to the “No Smoking or Eating in Bus” regulation
- Maintain and control discipline in the bus/van and report problems to Unit Director
- Maintain accurate reporting records
- Complete incident reports on all accidents that occur on the bus/van
- Attend staff meetings upon request
Additional Responsibilities:
- May be assigned special projects and other duties periodically by Supervisor
- May participate in special programs and/or events
- Part-time employees are required to attend a certain amount of training (Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast management will determine dates and times)
- Review and respond to e-mails, voicemails and other forms of communication within one business day
Essential Skills & Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a clear approved Mississippi Commercial Driver License
- Must be insurable by BGCGC’s insurance carrier
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications
- CDL Class B
Valued Skills & Experience:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- Five years or more experience of bus driving for a public or private school system

Relationships:
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructors; instruct; and advise/counsel
External: Maintain contact with other Clubs, vendors, consultants, organizations, government agencies and others to achieve program goals and objectives, manage costs, share information, and resolve problems.

Employee may be asked to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Employee must occasionally visit other Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast Clubs.
- Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually low. When Club is in session, the noise level may be moderate to loud.
