What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Infant Teacher position at Boys & Girls Clubs of The Sioux Empire?
Join our team as an Assistant Infant Teacher at the Empower Campus Learning Center! You'll support classroom operations, ensure a safe, engaging environment, and work closely with the Lead Teacher to lead fun, educational activities for young learners.
What You'll Do:
- Work Full-Time: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM
- Collaborate with Lead Teachers: Support lesson planning and classroom activities, assisting in the infant room.
- Lead Activities: Organize and guide fun and educational activities, including reading, arts, and crafts and outdoor play; provide resources to support development through play, music, and storytelling.
- Assist With Care: Help with diapering, rest periods and nap schedules; help prepare and serve balanced meals and snacks.
- Ensure Safety and Communication: Monitor children’s play, sanitizing toys, maintain records of activities, meals, and medications, and provide daily updates to parents and guardians.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience & Education: Previous experience or education in early childhood development preferred but not required. CPR certification is required; however, we provide this training in-house if you are not currently certified.
- Communication, Teamwork & Reliability: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and solve problems efficiently.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally, and perform tasks that require frequent standing, kneeling, and walking. Must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Screening Process: Job offers are contingent upon a post-offer screening, which includes, but is not limited to, background checks, child abuse and neglect screening, and drug test.
