What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time Float Teacher position at Boys & Girls Clubs of The Sioux Empire?
Do you like variety in your workday? As a Float Teacher for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire, you’ll play a critical role in helping the classrooms run smoothly, while providing excellent care for children. In this position you’ll get the unique opportunity to get to know all of the children and families that we serve.
What You'll Do:
- Work Full-Time: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, working across various classrooms to support children ranging from infants to PreK.
- Collaborate with Lead Teachers: Assist with lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Lead Activities: Organize and guide fun and educational activities, including reading, arts, and crafts and outdoor play; provide resources to support development through play, music, and storytelling.
- Assist With Care: Help with diapering, potty training, rest periods, and nap schedules; help prepare and serve balanced meals and snacks.
- Ensure Safety and Communication: Monitor children’s play, sanitizing toys, maintain records of activities, meals, and medications, and provide daily updates to parents and guardians.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience & Education: Previous experience or education in early childhood development preferred but not required. CPR certification is required; however, we provide this training in-house if you are not currently certified.
- Communication, Teamwork & Reliability: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and solve problems efficiently.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally, and perform tasks that require frequent standing, kneeling, and walking. Must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Screening Process: Job offers are contingent upon a post-offer screening, which includes, but is not limited to, background checks, child abuse and neglect screening, and drug test.
