- Implement programs and activities in areas such as tutoring, technology, games, health and recreation, arts and crafts, etc. for youth of all ages
- Supervise and monitor program areas to ensure safety of members
- Develop, post and follow weekly lesson plans under the direction of Program and Education Directors
- Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with the Club team
- Provide supervision in various program areas
- Promote and stimulate program participation
- Create opportunities for development of strengths and competencies
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members
PREPARE YOUTH FOR SUCCESS:
- Know the Youth Development Strategy - Instill in youth a sense of Belonging, Usefulness, Influence and Competence (BUIC).
- Create opportunities for development of strengths and competencies
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May participate in special programs and/or events
- May be required to be a monitor on the bus
- Complete trainings as required by licensing agency
- May be required to help out in multiple areas as needed
- Clean area and bathrooms as needed at the end of day
- May be required to work at other club locations
Qualifications
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with children
- Knowledge of youth development
- Knowledge of Department of Education/DHS Licensing Requirements
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
- Ability to deal with the general public
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
- Must be flexible and be able to work well with other team members
- Ability to multitask
- Problem solving skills
- Must be CPR and First Aid Certified
EMPLOYMENT SCREENINGS:
- Must pass local, state and national criminal background checks
- Must pass TBI and DHS fingerprinting
- Must pass drug screening and pre employment physical
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift 40lbs
- Must be able to move quickly to keep up with youth
- Must be able to remain alert and energetic for 8 hours or more
- Must have clear vision and hearing to monitor children's safety and respond to their needs
REQUIRED DATES
- Employees will be required to attend in person training the week of May 19th. Exact dates and times will be provided upon hire.
