PRIMARY FUNCTION: The TN Tutor Corp Tutor is responsible for providing after school tutoring services to support student learning and development, including academic enrichment, mentoring, tutoring, and homework help.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Program Development and Implementation
- Provides academic tutoring to students
- Develops individual, small group, and large group academic lesson plans appropriate for students in the program
- Teaches and evaluates academic lessons
- Helps students develop positive self-confidence, raise self-concept, and reduce anxiety or fear of failure in academic work
- Assists students in achieving a better understanding of specific subject material and in improving academic capabilities in designated areas
- Maintains records on each student who is being tutored, including follow-up and periodic assessments. Keeps a daily running record of student response and progress
- Submits all administrative paperwork, such as time sheets, correctly and on time
- Ensures confidentiality of records and information is maintained at all times

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Be a 2021 high school graduate or an undergraduate currently enrolled in a postsecondary institution or in their first year out of college;
Ideal candidate is a certified teacher
- Has experience tutoring children
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds
- Must be able to remain alert and energetic for 8 hours or more
- Must be able to move quickly to keep up with youth
