POSITION TITLE: Social Worker
CLUB/OFFICE LOCATION: 2400 1st Ave, Greeley, CO 80631
DEPARTMENT: Child Safety
REPORTS TO: Director of People, Culture & Safety
Full-Time/Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: The Club Social Worker advocate for services, short-term goal oriented individual and family ongoing support, conflict resolution and mediation. This individual will work with Clubhouse staff to develop prevention and intervention strategies for members and their families. There may be opportunities to organize and lead short-term small groups for members and/or parents addressing issues/topics including, but not limited to, bullying, substance use/abuse, self-esteem, peer leadership, and mental health.
Work Environment: The Boys & Girls Clubs environment is a fast-paced and fun place for kids ages 6-18. Our members are opt-in to various meaningful activities in our Five Core Program Areas (Service & Leadership, Sports & Recreation, Health & Wellness, Education, and The Arts). The Clubs are open after school during the academic year, and from 8 am-5:30pm for 9 weeks in the summer. Hundreds of kids fill our Clubs and are looking for a safe place to engage with peers, receive a healthy meal, and have FUN. To be impactful in this setting, the Social Worker must be flexible, able to work with kids in a variety of settings, work collaboratively with a team of Club employees, react quickly to stressful situations, briefly cover various rooms if needed, interact positively with kids and families of all backgrounds, and maintain an emotionally positive environment for kids.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Education, Experience & Skills
- Demonstrates a high degree of initiative, self-direction, and creativity.

- Exhibits professionalism.
- Maintains excellent working relationships with staff, volunteers and public.
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to work with people from diverse racial/cultural/socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in behavior intervention, youth development, small group facilitation, and/or case management.
- LCSW or MSW, LSW, SWC or BSW, and experience working with youth and families. Knowledge of social service issues, trends, and resources preferred.
KEY ROLES
Competency Areas:
Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement collaborative programs and events with staff from BGCweld clubhouses and community organizations as appropriate.
- Coordinate program partners and consultants who can offer specialized instruction, support and guidance to members and staff.
- In collaboration with the leadership, supervise and discipline members participating in programs and services within the department and throughout the clubhouse as deemed appropriate using the Club's behavior management policy.
Partnership Development
- Participate in program/service outcome measurement processes and other evaluations programs including BGCA’s annual evaluation Commitment to Quality.
- Develop a social service resource network outside and within the neighborhood/community.
Resource Management
- Case management of members, including documentation and record keeping of information
- Secure, maintain and monitor budget, materials, equipment, and other resources
- Participate in weekly individual and group supervision sessions (including clinical supervision); participate in professional development opportunities as appropriate.
Relationships
- Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, and explain or interpret guidelines/instructions.
- External: Maintains contact as needed with external community groups, schools, members’ parents and others to assist in resolving problems.

LCSW $30p/h
MSW- $27p/h
