Training Supervisor

Role Summary: The Training Supervisor is responsible for developing, coordinating, and overseeing training programs for all staff within Boys & Girls Havens organization. This role ensures that all individuals receive appropriate education and support to meet state regulations, organizational standards, and best practices.
Essential Functions:

• Develop, implement, and oversee training programs for all direct care and support staff.
• Ensure all training materials align with state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies.
• Coordinate onboarding and continuous professional development opportunities for staff.
• Maintain all necessary certifications (SCM, CPR, First Aid, etc..)
• Assess all training needs for new and seasoned employees
• Evaluate learning needs by speaking directly to employees, collaborating with supervisors, managers and directors. (also organizational wide surveys)
• Responsible for designing training programs that are delivered. Create materials used for programs, such as presentations slides and handouts.(if material is not provided)
• Schedule training sessions or presentations at times that work for the majority of the group.
• Willingness to become expert/Champion for the organization on certain training models such as Trauma Resilient Communities, Safe Crisis Management and other best practice training models as decided on by leaderships and the training supervisor.
• Stay updated on best practices, emerging trends, and changes in foster care regulations.
• Work closely with the Director to ensure strategic alignment of training initiatives.

Unplanned Activities: At BGH, we value teamwork. To meet departmental and organizational goals, the employee is expected to assist with activities that are not formal parts of the role’s essential functions and may be considered other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education - A Bachelor’s degree in social services or other related/relevant field.

• Experience/Credentials – Minimum of two years’ experience working with older adolescents and young adults in a residential treatment, mental health/psychiatric hospital or pre-independent/independent living setting. Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills, including proficiency with appropriate computer software/hardware (i.e., Windows, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word and other relevant software/hardware).
Other - Interact professionally with BGH employees, clients, visitors, government agencies and the general public. Maintain confidentiality of all client information. Must be at least 21 years of age and legally able to work in U.S. Valid driver’s license and insurability by BGH’s insurance carrier required. Successful completion of all background screenings and pre-employment drug screen. Successful negative, post-contingent offer and annual TB screenings.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: stand, walk and sit; use hands to manually manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to read, write and converse in English.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to clients’ apartments, communal areas and a standard office environment. Clients’ living spaces may range from impeccably clean to less than appealing regarding order and cleanliness. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee will come into contact with BGH clients, staff members, Board members, volunteers and other members of the community.
