Boys Home of Virginia is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated High School History Teacher to join our team. This position is ideal for an educator who is committed to fostering academic growth in history while also developing student-athletes through coaching soccer. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging history instruction.
- Develop and implement an engaging history curriculum that meets Boys Home standards.
- Teach high school history courses, including U.S. History, World History, and Government.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students with varying academic backgrounds.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including hands-on activities, technology, and real-world applications, to enhance student learning.
- Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback and support.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with staff and guardians regarding student progress.
- Collaborate with other faculty members and participate in school-wide activities.
- Encourage positive behavior and character development in alignment with the mission and values of Boys Home of Virginia.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, or a related field
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Commitment to helping students succeed academically and personally in a residential setting.
- Ability to incorporate technology and interactive teaching methods into the curriculum. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
