We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School Math Teacher to teach Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment, helping students build strong mathematical foundations while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II in alignment with school curriculum standards.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students with varying academic backgrounds.
- Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence in math.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including hands-on activities, technology, and real-world applications, to enhance student learning.
- Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback and support.
- Collaborate with other educators, administrators, and residential staff to support students’ academic and personal growth.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with staff and guardians regarding student progress.
- Encourage positive behavior and character development in alignment with the mission and values of Boys Home of Virginia.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the overall success of the school community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Experience teaching high school math, particularly Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Commitment to helping students succeed academically and personally in a residential setting.
- Ability to incorporate technology and interactive teaching methods into the curriculum.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
