CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRIST

Provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to our outpatient clientele. Helps individuals manage their mental health conditions and improve their overall well-being.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :

• Conduct s thorough psychiatric assessments to diagnose mental health conditions.
• Formulate s accurate treatment plans based on assessment findings and clinical judgment.
• Schedule s and conduct s regular follow-up appointments to assess patient progress.
• Modif ies treatment plans as required to meet changing patient needs.
• Prescribe s and manage s psychotropic medications as appropriate .
• Monitor s medication efficacy and side effects, making adjustments as needed.
• Educate s patients about their medications, potential side effects, risks and benefits.
• Provide s psychotherapy or counseling services as needed or collaborate with therapists and psychologists to offer comprehensive care.
• Offer s evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical-behavior therapy (DBT), and others.
• Provides crisis intervention and emergency consultations as needed.
• Assess es and manage acute psychiatric crises and coordinate s higher levels of care when necessary.
• Maintain s accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessment notes, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate s with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and support staff, to ensure holistic patient care.
• Consult s with other healthcare providers and specialists as needed for comorbid medical conditions.
• Stay s current with developments in the field of psychiatry by participating in continuing education, attending conferences, and reading research literature.
