Role Overview
We are seeking two exceptional individuals to work together as Family Teachers in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. As a Family Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of America's youth by providing care, guidance, and support to boys and girls in our care.
Main Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing a Loving Environment
You will create a warm and welcoming home atmosphere, fostering a sense of belonging and security for the youth in your care.
- Counseling and Guidance
You will use rational problem-solving techniques to counsel youth through personal challenges, helping them develop essential life skills and coping mechanisms.
- Social-Emotional Development
You will support the moral, spiritual, and educational development of our youth by monitoring their academic progress, attending school conferences, and teaching Boys Town values.
- Liaison Role
You will serve as a liaison between consumers, outside agencies, and internal personnel, maintaining contact with youth, coordinating activities, and preparing progress reports.
- Supervision and Management
You will supervise Assistant Family-Teachers, manage household needs, and provide monthly schedules, ensuring seamless communication and teamwork.
