What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPECIAL EDUCATION COORDINATOR position at Boys Town?
Works with youth and teachers to coordinate educational efforts for those who have special educational needs.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES : Coordinates special education, administrative, and counseling activities for students enrolled in Home Campus schools.
- Develops and implements curriculum, program, and procedures designed to meet the educational needs of all identified special education students enrolled at service delivery sites.
- Provides for appropriate and accurate assessment and designation of referred students; designs, implements, and manages the IEP process for students complying with all state and federal regulations.
- Serves as consultant to teachers and other school staff for remediation of communication disorders for identified students.
- Demonstrates concern and respect for individual students, assumes major responsibility for academic and social growth of each student, and cares for student health and well-being during the school day.
Participates in the administration of the Special Education Program.
