Full-time City of Bozeman employees receive top-tier benefits including 15 vacation days, 12 sick days, 12 holidays, 8 weeks of paid parental leave, bilingual pay, excellent retirement options, comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans, discounted ski tickets and gym memberships, and much more!Bargaining Agreement: Montana Federation of Public Employees (MFPE)Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Non-Exempt Work Week: Sunday-Thursday, one evening shift per week (11:15am-8:15pm)Examples of Essential Work (Illustrative Only)Explains library policies and procedures to patrons;Provides assistance to patrons in locating various materials and services throughout the library, including interviewing patrons to determine individual needs, referring patrons to other community resources and libraries, demonstrating the use of the library catalog, self-checkout machines, and other electronic services;Implements programs to inspire curiosity, exploration, and connection for all ages;Collects fees for lost or damaged books, out of county library cards, and other fees;Participates in marketing and communication efforts on behalf of the library;Monitors the sorting, shelving, shifting, and condition of library materials in accordance with the Dewey Decimal System;Coordinates the interlibrary loan program to request materials from other libraries, including borrowing materials using online databases, choosing the lending library, explaining policies to patrons; prepares materials for loan to other libraries, and making appropriate changes to the online circulation system, as assigned;Coordinates volunteers, including working with Department Heads to determine needs, participating in the selection of volunteers, providing training, tracking hours, organizing volunteer appreciation, as assigned;Coordinates meeting room reservations using booking software as assigned;Supports marketing efforts for the Library, working closely with the marketing team to develop and maintain marketing plan, edit the website, post on social media, create digital media, and make flyers, as assigned;Compiles key statistics for monthly and annual reports to governing bodies;Regularly attends and participates in staff meetings;Provides needed information and demonstrations concerning how to perform certain work tasks to new employees in the same or similar class of positions;Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems;Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas;Responds to citizens’ questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner;Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities;Performs other duties consistent with the role and function of this classification.
