Job Details
Part-time or full-time position available. Shifts are Monday 10am-4pm Tuesday & Wednesday 10:30am-4:30pm Thursday 10am-4pm and Friday 10:30-4:30pm
Experience in food service and customer service preferred. This role supports the hot bar cook. Willing to train the right candidate.
Purpose: Prepare attractive, high-quality, healthy offerings for the deli via good to go (G2G), prep, and/or rover shifts.
Specific Responsibilities of Co-op Cook I
Food Preparation
- Prep and/or assemble, high-quality food in appropriate amounts in a timely manner using available ingredients, by following recipes.
- Prepare vegetables, grains and protein options for cold bars, pizzas, wraps, entrees, and other applications; marinades, sauces, dressings, and other items as directed, meeting timelines and quantity/quality expectations.
- Accurately weigh, label, and record product information.
- Monitor and record temperatures at regular intervals.
- Use proper storage, product rotation and labeling procedures.
- Document out-of-stock and waste items following department procedures.
- Maintain working knowledge of the products the Deli sells.
Department Maintenance
- Maintain work areas in sanitary, orderly condition meeting Health Department standards.
- Promptly advise Prepared Foods Team Manager of any equipment repair or replacement needs.
Qualifications
- Experience, in commercial food service and/or baking desired, that demonstrates the aptitude to successfully meet the expectations listed above.
- Knowledge of proper food handling procedures, desired.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; early morning, daytime, evening, holiday, and weekend shifts required.
- Ability to follow recipes and produce food in large quantities.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. throughout shift, occasionally 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods and to bend and twist repeatedly; ability to lift product overhead and/or to climb ladders with product.
