Seasonal Snow Removal Technician

TACTICAL WORK

1. Review Battle Board for daily assignments

2. Daily monitoring GroupMe, and responding to requests for work

3. Attend morning muster, noting 

4. Review visit notes for every assigned property, asking for clarification when needed,

5. Quickly and efficiently clean sidewalks using snowrators, backpack blowers, shovels, ice-melt, etc.

6. Push sidewalks edge to edge, grass visible and curbside open

7. Push curbs five feet out if lot has not been plowed, or to the nearest snow storage location if it has already been plowed

8. When applicable, spread ice melt at the application rate according to SOP

9. Clean dumpster corrals  and handicapped parking of snow 

10. Wear reflective clothing (BSS provides vests upon request) 

11. Use various equipment, such as snowrator, to ensure the route is complete to company standards

12. Promptly report malfunctioning equipment to Shovel Crew Leader who completes Mechanical Order Request Form

13. Willingness to work on any company crew (BSS prefers and provides opportunities for year-round employment)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Age 16 or older 

2. Reliable transportation to work to help maintain a pristine attendance record

3. Legal, valid, driver's license (BSS reserves the right to modify jobs pending the results of employee driving history verification)

4. Ability to work a flexible winter schedule, (hours may begin 3am on snow days, with a guaranteed 2 days off per week)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS 

1. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing for long periods of time, running and walking, sitting, pushing, pulling

2. Lifting and raising objects up to 50 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position, to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles

3. Fingering, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion

4. Talking and hearing

5. Subject to changing environmental conditions

6. Subject to business office environment

Salary : $27 - $30
