Accounting/Finance - Analyst

Position Overview:   The Accounting/Business Analyst plays a key role in analyzing financial data and business operations to support decision-making in a grocery distribution environment. This role is responsible for performing financial reporting, cost analysis, forecasting, and business performance evaluation to improve efficiency and profitability across the supply chain.   Responsibilities: Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review. Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and financial modeling. Partner with operations, procurement, logistics, and merchandising teams to evaluate business performance and support strategic initiatives. Assist with general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities. Conduct margin and pricing analysis to support product and customer profitability reviews. Evaluate and streamline financial processes for efficiency and compliance with internal controls. Develop dashboards and KPIs to track business and operational metrics. Support enterprise accounting systems (e.g., ERP platforms MS Access, Excel, document storage and workflow software). Design, build, and maintain standard and ad hoc financial reports and models using tools such as MS Access and Excel Performing other duties as assigned by leadership Environment: Warehouse Office – approx. 65F – 75F Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:30pm Experience: Preferred: 3-5 years of experience in Accounting Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field Preferred: Experience with financial systems, reporting, and general ledgers. Preferred: Experience with programming/scripting tools such as Python or VBA Preferred: Wholesale and Retail experience preferred. Preferred: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates and leadership   Skills: Physical abilities: Ability to stand, walk and sit throughout your day; Walking on a variety of flooring such as carpet, concrete, tile etc; Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; project management Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards from all perspectives Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies to all associates; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
