Position Overview:
As a CDLA Driver you are responsible for safely maneuvering tractor-trailer combinations to deliver products to and from customers and other facilities. This position requires excellent driving skills, attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
Hooking up a tractor to a trailer
Performing pre-trip and post-trip evaluations of trailer and tractor; completing additional inspections as needed
Unloading or unhooking drop trailers at various locations
Operating electric pallet and manual pallet jacks on varying surfaces
Mounting and dismounting equipment approximately 54 inches off ground level on surfaces that may be pitches and/or wet and slippery
Climbing to a height of 54 inches using steps and objects ranging in height from 6 to 19 inches
Sitting in conditions of constant vibration for periods of time up to 16 hours
Handling all pertinent records accurately and legibly
Reporting all safety issues in a timely manner
Following directions in print form and/or by computerized display
Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
Flexibility to work various or additional shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Experience:
3 years minimum active driving experience
CDL-A License required (Valid & Active) for vehicles up to gross weight of 80,000 pounds for inter-state commerce
21 years or older

Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift; securing adequate rest between work assignments and abide by all DOT regulations
Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; the ability to operate required material handling equipment – getting on and off equipment throughout shift
Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
