Position Overview:
The Facility Maintenance Carpenter will be responsible for layout, construction, installation and repair of various structures and components. Other duties include designing, cutting and measuring materials.
Responsibilities:
Construct walls, shed roof, modular offices and cubicles.
Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs and other fixtures.
Use materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics and composites of multiple materials.
Fit and install window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using a level, plumb bob and laser levels.
Build, install, and repair cabinets, doors, framework, countertops, floors, etc. and other wooden fixtures.
Contact vendors, order parts, prepare estimates and oversee certain work.
Ability to work quickly and accurately during times of stress and pressure.
Shape and cut materials to specified measurements using hand tools
Read and work from building drawings, sketches or building plans to determine dimensions and materials needed.
Be able to respond to facility emergencies during unscheduled hours.
Assist facility mechanics with tasks.
Assist in cleaning and maintaining a safe working environment
Flexibility to work various or additional shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Experience:
Preferred: 7-10 years experience including rough and finish carpentry
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or a minimum of 4 years experience as a journey-level carpenter.
Schedule:
Sunday – Thursday 4 pm – 12:30 am
Some 1st shift hours may be required for special events (Dream Ride, Food Show, etc.)
Environment:
Work environment will vary with temperatures from -10 degrees Fahrenheit to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Skills:
Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; the ability to operate required material handling equipment – getting on and off equipment throughout shift
Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure completion of all work assignments
